We are seeking a unit psychiatrist for two of the 8-bed units at the RTF.   The position includes consultation with staff as well as on-going evaluation and direct treatment of patients.  The total time needed is apx. 20 hours weekly.  If the right candidate is seeking more extended hours, up to full-time, an extension of responsibilities may be possible.  We anticipate opening a new 24-bed RTF in Brooklyn early in 2012 (see below), and are seeking a candidate who may be interested in developing substantial additional responsibilities there in the coming years.

Child psychiatry credentials, while helpful, are not required. However, a background in psychodynamically oriented inpatient work with adolescents and young adults is needed.

Salary for this position will be pro-rated based on $124,500 for full time (40 hrs.).  Paid holidays and 4 weeks vacation are included.  If the position is at least half time (20 hrs./week), a significant benefit package will also be included.

In addition, we are always interested in hearing from professionals in any related fields
(education, psychiatry, psychology, social work, etc.) who would like to work with youngsters like ours, as well as from people without professional credentials who are interested in careers in child care.  We are currently planning for a new 24-bed RTF at 2050 Dean Street in Brooklyn.  The building is now being renovated, and the program is scheduled to begin operating early in 2012.  As a result of this expansion, we are actively seeking new staff in all areas.
